Policy and Information

Thank you for considering Shaggy Doodles! As expected, there is a lot that goes into the health and safety of our furry friends. Please see the below policies and additional information to help walk you through this exciting time. We look forward to hearing from you!

  • Puppy Visiting - A wonderful part of our business is getting to know the families who adopt our puppies. As much as we would enjoy visiting with everyone who is interested in meeting our Australian Labradoodles, it’s just not safe or possible. Young puppies are very susceptible to disease, and they deserve all the protection we can reasonably provide them. Potential buyers can expose our pregnant mother and newborn puppies to unnecessary danger. We raise our babies in the middle of our family home, not in a kennel. For these reasons, we are not open to the public for visitations. Thank you for understanding and allowing us to put the safety, health and well-being of your puppy as our greatest priority.

  • Puppy Picks - Picks are made in the order of deposits received. I always reserve the first two spots for myself and picks start after I choose which dogs to hold back for my breeding program. At 6/7 weeks old the puppies get vet checked and the picking will begin. If I decide to not keep any puppies for my program puppy picks may start earlier.

  • Payment – Cash only will be due on pick up day for the remaining balance. The $300 non-refundable deposit will be applied to the total cost of puppy.

  • Puppy Supplies – High Quality Puppy Food, Crate or place to sleep, Dog Bed, Leash, Chew toys (no raw hide), Play toys, Bowls, Training treats (I recommend Tricky Trainer), Litter Box (if you plan to use one),Puppy Shampoo. Pin Brush, Ear cleaner (I recommend Zymox)

  • Vet - If you have not already done so, now is the time to find a vet. Schedule your first puppy check exam within 3 business days of receiving your puppy as well as your spay/neuter at 6 months of age.

  • Trainer - Your puppy will be ready to go to classes within a month of going home. Just make sure the training facility requires all dogs to have their age appropriate vaccinations for the safety of your puppy and that they do positive based training only. If you are local or want to leave your puppy longer l I recommend you continue training with Marty at Pastivie Training www.pawsitivetrainingcenter.com

  • Pictures - I try to take pictures weekly. If I do not post them on Facebook I will personally text them to you.

  • Go Home - Go home starts at 8 weeks of age. If you need us to take care of your puppy for an additional period the charge would be $30.00 a day after 8 weeks old.

  • Reminder - As we know, mother nature is in charge, so sometimes the timing of a heat cycle or expected litter doesn’t always work out exactly as planned. We reserve the right to use a different stud than originally planned to improve the quality of a litter. It may even be necessary at times to replace an upcoming litter with an entirely different pairing due to the interference of Mother Nature in regards to timing. In the event we replace a stud or a future pairing, we will make every effort to ensure the same colors and sizes expected for the litter, however this may not always be possible.
